SR Timber announces UK Roofing Awards sponsorship

SR Timber is thrilled to announce that it has become a sponsor of the upcoming UK Roofing Awards, which are hosted by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC).

The awards, which were established in 2005, have become an industry-leading event, celebrating and rewarding outstanding standards of workmanship, innovation and safety across the built environment.

The event on 19th May will attract more than 700 leading figures from across the roofing industry, including architects, suppliers, contractors and other partners throughout the supply chain.

Our trading director, Shaun Revill, said that he is delighted that SR Timber has become a sponsor of the awards.

“The awards celebrate the very best of the UK roofing industry and will feature a range of incredible projects that showcase the full range of expertise within our sector, and we are extremely proud that SR Timber is a key part of this celebration,” he said.

“SR Timber fully supports the awards because it’s important that there is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the roofing industry in all its forms, and we very much look forward to seeing all the entries that have been shortlisted across all the categories.”

There are 17 awards up for grabs at the event including Roof Slating, Roof Tiling and Heritage Roofing.

The awards also recognise outstanding talent in the roofing industry with awards such as Apprentice of the Year, as well as issues such as Environmental and NFRC Safety in Roofing.

Shaun added that it was apt that SR Timber became a sponsor because the company, which manufactures Premium Gold roofing batten, is celebrating the gold standard of roofing expertise.

“In so many ways, products such as fully graded and BS5534-compliant roofing batten are the unsung heroes of our industry because they are a vital part of the construction of the vast majority of roofing installations, but because they are not a visible part of a finished roof, they will never be the star of the show. That said, I’m looking forward to the awards because I’m predicting that there will be lots of shortlisted projects that have used our SR Timber Premium Gold roofing batten. And that’s good enough for us.”
